Converse x TAKAHIROMIYASHITA in The Soloist capsule collection (2019)

Take a journey to the dark side with Converse’s newest collaborations. Today, the Nike-owned company is working with the Japanese design visionary TAKAHIROMIYASHITA and together they’re releasing their Converse x TheSoloist collection.

The collaboration remixes worn leather jackets and throwback Americana copped by rock artists. You’ll see how the two make great music together by riffing on the Jack Purcell and brings a rebellious capsule collection from concept to reality. Here’s what Converse has to say about their dope collab:

The collection features transformative elements that demonstrate Takahiro’s ingenuity and defiant approach to design, the Jack Purcell inspired waterproof jacket, packable tee and hoodie come to life with stylized zips, eyelets and lacing. With details at the forefront of the design, much like the classic 1933 silhouette, the capsule’s nuances are its defining features.

The Japanese fashion visionary Takahiro Miyashita first came to prominence when he founded Number (N)ine, an avant-garde cult brand. When he left Number (N)ine in 2009, he moved on and created a new fashion project called TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist that would better reflected his personal style in the blacks and whites that the cult label is known for.
