OFF-WHITE‘s founder and Kanye West’s creative director Virgil Abloh recently unofficially confirmed rumors of collaboration with Nike to release some fly sneakers.
Since March of 2015, the word on the streets was that the two dope companies would come together for creative collaboration. Abloh denied this at the time. However, there have been many rumblings that it was actually happening for real and the natives are restless.
As far as evidence goes, Instagram user illroots posted an image that seems to show a sample of a mostly white Blazer Mid — that was a few months ago.
Abloh recently gave a lecture to Columbia University students, complete with PowerPoint presentation. Out of the blue, he pulled out a prototype of the Nike show, and throws it into the audience. He tells them to pass them around and take a look at the design. Then he gives props to Nike for letting him “tinker” with their product.
Much like the leaked images of the black Air Force 1 seen at the end of last year, the mid-top silhouette has “Off-White™ c/o Nike” along the upper, partially covered by the Swoosh. Abloh did not drop an exact release date, but it looks like it will be this year.
