If you have a mobile phone, we’re going to assume you’re probably on Instagram. If you’re on an Android phone using Instagram then a good chunk of you are probably wondering how you can change the background color on an instagram story that includes a photo.
The problem many Android users have run into is when sharing out a photo as an Instastory that doesn’t take up the full screen, Instragram automatically chooses the background color. And when trying to change the background color quickly by pressing the squiggly line and then long pressing actually ends up covering up the photo you just shared out. This video didn’t help:
So how does one change Background Color on an instagram Story with Photo on an Android phone? Apparently it’s simple on the iPhone, but on the Android (at least on my Pixel 2XL), it’s not that simple. When I go to long press using the haptic feedback, the color paints over the photo.
Since there’s no option to add a photo to a blank canvas of your background choice, what I’ve resorted to doing is using the squiggly and painting *AROUND* the photo in order to change the background color. This isn’t the easiest way nor cleanest, but if you WANT and NEED to change the background color on an instastory photo then this might be your only way, unfortunately.
